Frequently Asked

Common questions.

The questions we field most often from clients evaluating an engagement.

How do you price projects?

Every engagement begins with a written scope and a fixed-price quote. There are no hourly billing surprises and no scope-creep upcharges. If you need a change after the contract is signed, you receive a written change order with its own fixed price — you decide whether to accept it before any additional work happens.

Do I own the source code when the project is delivered?

Yes. Full source-code ownership transfers to you on delivery and final payment. You receive the complete repository, deployment scripts, infrastructure configuration, and documentation. Nothing is gated behind a proprietary platform you can’t leave.

How long does a typical custom build take?

Most projects fall into one of three brackets: a small marketing site or landing application is roughly 1–3 weeks; a mid-sized web application or e-commerce store is roughly 4–8 weeks; a complex multi-tenant platform or operations system is 8–16+ weeks. The written proposal you receive after our discovery call includes a milestone-by-milestone timeline.

Where is DPM Enterprise based and who will I be working with?

DPM Enterprise LLC is an independent software engineering firm based in Quincy, Illinois, founded in 2026 by Derek Deppermann. You work directly with the engineer building your software — there are no account managers, no project-management middlemen, and no offshore subcontractors. We serve clients across the United States.

Do you subcontract work to other agencies or offshore teams?

No. Every line of code we deliver is written in-house. This is a deliberate constraint — it’s the only way we can guarantee architectural consistency, accountability, and the security posture our clients depend on.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance and support after launch?

Yes. Three managed-operations tiers are available, starting at $49/month for essential hosting and SSL maintenance, up through $299/month for full proactive operations including ongoing development hours, real-time backups, and a 99.99% uptime SLA. See the pricing section above for the full breakdown.

What technologies do you build with?

We architect each project around what fits the requirements rather than forcing a single stack. Common choices include Node.js / Express, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Stripe, and Nginx, deployed on managed VPS infrastructure. We avoid lock-in to proprietary platforms and choose technologies you or another engineer can maintain long-term.

How do we get started?

Send us a short description of what you need to build through the contact form or call us at (309) 200-5279. We respond within 24 hours with either a written proposal or a request for a brief discovery call — whichever fits the project. There’s no commitment until you countersign the proposal.

Not Sure Which Service You Need?

Describe your situation — we’ll recommend the right scope, architecture, and engagement model. No commitment, no sales pressure.
